Surgery and Rehabilitation in Italy

IMeT - Surgery and Physical Rehabilitation - is a new agency, dedicated to offering orthopaedic surgery and physical rehabilitation at four private hospitals in Italy.

IMeT associated hospitals offer excellent medical, surgical and anaesthesiological standards (totally equivalent to those of the UK), but at noticeably competitive prices if compared to the private hospitals offering in the UK.

In particular, professional physical rehabilitation, of the correct intensity and duration, is often overlooked in the outstretched National Health Systems, and even in the UK private sector, but it can make an enormous difference to the outcome of orthopaedic surgery and other conditions. In all IMeT associated hospitals it is considered integral part of the treatment; and it allows the patients to travel safely home at the end of the period.

Waiting lists for elective surgery have grown much longer during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. With IMeT, patients will not only grant themselves excellent and prompt healthcare services, they will also contribute to the shortening of waiting lists, to the benefit of all those fellow citizens who cannot afford more than what is covered by the NHS: a reward for them but also an indirect civic help for all citizens and tax-payers, and for the NHS.

The level of surgery offered is totally equivalent with the level offered in the UK, both in the NHS and in the private sector, or in other Western countries. Particular attention is dedicated to the management of post-operative pain, and to the prevention of venous thrombo-embolism, in line with the most advanced medical standards.
